Episode Transcript
[00:00:03] Speaker A: Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the Royalty room. It is 2025.
We're having a insanely ridiculous year already. But I have a hometown guest, and you probably have forgot that I'm from a very strange, small place in Pennsylvania. But we have a special guest. He is famous on the Internet already, so we're blessed to have him in the royalty room, Mr. Trey smoothie.
[00:00:29] Speaker B: So what's up?
[00:00:30] Speaker A: Okay. Straight from Pittsburgh.
Thank you for coming out all the way across the country to see us.
[00:00:36] Speaker B: Thank you for having me.
[00:00:38] Speaker A: Yeah. So tell. Before I even get started, tell everybody what we need to know about you and where we can find you.
[00:00:45] Speaker B: My name is Trey Moody.
I'm from Pittsburgh, as you said. Specifically McKee, sport.
I do YouTube Twitch, a little bit of tick tock.
But yeah, mostly just react to videos with my boy Smooth. Shout out Smooth Elijah. That's my. That's my best friend. And yeah, that's what we do.
[00:01:08] Speaker A: Okay, so one. Let's take it back just a second. I did not know you're from McKeesport. That is insane.
So one. Ding, ding, ding. Love is Blind. That whole. Did you hear about the guy from Love is Blind? That was from McKeesport.
[00:01:22] Speaker B: No.
[00:01:22] Speaker A: It was this huge thing and he, like, turned out to be, like, psychotic and all types of, like, crazy stuff. And they were like, oh, yeah, he's from this. This place called McKeesport, Pennsylvania. I'm like, what the hell? Where'd you find. Like, how did you find this guy? Yeah, and I. My mom, she was dating somebody that was from McKeesport. So I know the area very well. Long, long ago. But for you guys, small town. We're. We're small town folks.
And I'm sure that my accent is going to get brought out a little bit more than you probably have ever heard while I talk to him. So I apologize ahead of time, but you have 1.5 million views on your top video.
How. How does that feel? Like I get excited when I reach 100.
[00:02:18] Speaker B: Not to sound like, you know, I guess, like cocky or anything, but kind of used to it.
It's. I don't know. I don't know. Like, I do it really just for the entertainment, you know, like, just entertaining people, making people laugh and so on and so forth.
It don't. It just. It just makes me work harder.
[00:02:38] Speaker A: That's good.
[00:02:39] Speaker B: Yeah. Like, it's. It's like even on TikTok, we have a. We have a video with some 7 million views.
[00:02:45] Speaker A: Damn.
[00:02:46] Speaker B: But it's just. It's.
I don't know. We're just used to it. So I really don't. It's, of course, in the moment, it's like, dang, like, that's dope.
[00:02:54] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:02:54] Speaker B: But then it's, you know, once that moment passes, we just keep moving on to the next. On to the next. Exactly.
[00:02:59] Speaker A: I saw someone post today, actually, like, if you're doing the. The Internet thing for the likes and the views, then you already lost.
[00:03:07] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure. Like, that's where I feel like that's where a lot of people kind of fall off at. They expect to hop on YouTube and get, you know, a hundred thousand views.
[00:03:20] Speaker A: Their first and just be Kai Sinat tomorrow.
[00:03:22] Speaker B: Exactly. Like, you gotta put the work in. Like, we're. We're five years in now, literally this month.
[00:03:28] Speaker A: Wow. Congratulations.
[00:03:29] Speaker B: Thank you. Thank you. But, like, when we first started, like, you know, surprisingly, reaching a hundred views was a bigger accomplishment to us than reaching a million.
[00:03:41] Speaker A: Damn.
[00:03:42] Speaker B: Reaching a thousand. Reaching five thousand. All that was like, dude, like, what? Oh, my gosh. And then, you know, as time progresses and you start getting so many views, you just kind of get accustomed to it. Like, we just reached 50 million views total on our channel this week.
[00:03:56] Speaker A: Wow. There's a lot to celebrate.
[00:03:58] Speaker B: Yeah, but that's the thing. We don't even sign celebrate. Like, the only thing we celebrated was 20, 000 subscribers.
[00:04:05] Speaker A: Okay, that's valid. And now we're at, like, 237. I think it was 237, 000.
[00:04:12] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:04:13] Speaker A: Yeah. So again, I was like you said I was real happy when I hit 300. So maybe this just means five years from now or three years from now. We'll be there too.
[00:04:24] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:04:25] Speaker A: How did you even get into, like, actually taking content seriously.
[00:04:31] Speaker B: So literally? This started with me.
My. My boy Smooth and my boy Z. Shout out Z.
We, back in 2019, we would sit in the car. No, I'm sorry, this was like 2018. We would sit in the car and we used to go to LA fitness and hoop and stuff like that. And we would sit in the car and just laugh and talk for literally hours. Like, just hours. And then one day, I decided to set a camera up and just start recording it.
And then I would post, like, some funny parts on Instagram on my Instagram story. And, like, at this. This was before I had the followers I had, but, like, I want to say, like, a bunch of people, just a bunch of people were sliding up and, like, you guys should do a YouTube, blah, blah, blah. So I presented the idea to them.
[00:05:19] Speaker A: Oh, shit.
[00:05:20] Speaker B: That's dope. Literally. Literally, that's it. Um, so that's where everything started. But so I presented the idea to them, like, yeah, we should do a YouTube channel, blah, blah, blah. We didn't start until Covid happened.
Covid happened.
You know, all of our schedules lined up because, you know, a lot of jobs were like shutting down, stuff like that. So started off with iPhone camera, set it in front of. We had it on a shoebox, put the iPhone camera on the shoe box, hit record, and just start making videos.
And literally our first month, Ashanti posted us on her story.
[00:06:02] Speaker A: I'm sorry, who?
[00:06:03] Speaker B: Ashanti.
What? Ashanti posted us on her story when we had 500 subscribers.
Yeah, it was a very big deal. Very, very big deal.
[00:06:14] Speaker A: Oh, God, that's insane.
[00:06:16] Speaker B: And that's.
[00:06:17] Speaker A: Did you tag her? Like, does that happen?
[00:06:19] Speaker B: No, like, she just. So we react. So we react to music.
[00:06:22] Speaker A: Okay. Yeah, yeah.
[00:06:23] Speaker B: So Dababy had a song with him. Meg and Ashanti, I don't know if you remember, I don't remember this record, but he sampled. He. He had Shaunti's joint. Baby, Baby.
[00:06:35] Speaker A: Okay, baby.
[00:06:36] Speaker B: Yeah. And so we reacted to that and she posted the clip on her story.
[00:06:40] Speaker A: That's dope.
[00:06:41] Speaker B: And yeah, so, like, after that happened, I was like, you know what? Like, we can take this. Yeah, like, and I always had that faith in us and like, you know, taking it somewhere and just elevating and so on and so forth and, you know, it's just dope to see how far it came. And looking back, like where we started out as, like, because you look at people and you don't. You don't always see the journey. Like, you might like, you know, five years from now, somebody might follow you, but they won't know that you. Where you started from.
So, like, just looking back and knowing where we started from is just such a surreal feeling. Like, dang, like, we really did that. We, like, we stuck to it, we committed and we just did it.
[00:07:22] Speaker A: So that was gonna be a question eventually of what advice you would give somebody who wants to start their content making journey. Is that, Is that what you would tell them?
[00:07:32] Speaker B: To somebody that wants to start content? I would definitely say, one, you have to do it for the right reasons. Like, if you're just trying to do it to be famous or like, you know, money wise or whatever, it's not, it's. It got to be surreal because you got to enjoy the journey. It's not going to happen overnight. You can get lucky. Yeah, you can definitely get lucky. And it happens overnight, but nine times out of 10, it's not going to happen that way. So you have to enjoy the journey first and really love what you're doing and take it day by day.
Second, discipline, consistency over everything. Like, you have to discipline yourself. You have to be consistent. You have to stay on that wave. You have to stay on that movement.
Like, the days that you don't want to do it are the days that matter the most. Oh, we literally, like, that's a gem, I'm telling you. Like, we react to music, and music over here drops at 9pm Music on the east drops at 12am we record at 12am 12am we was recording and making sure we're, you know, might post a video four or five o' clock in the morning. To be one of the first people to post to that song or to that music video or whatever the case may be, you got to work harder than everybody's. Everybody's trying to get somewhere. You got to mentally put yourself in a state where you're like, I want to work harder than you. I want to, you know, be better, be the best, whatever the case may be, and just put it, put it into fruition.
[00:08:59] Speaker A: Right. Is it just you guys, or do you have like a. Like a videographer? Do you have like an assistant? Is it just you guys doing everything?
[00:09:07] Speaker B: Nope. I.
I've edited all the videos. I've done all of it. Like, I've, you know, I'm behind everything. The editing, posting.
[00:09:19] Speaker A: That's a lot.
[00:09:20] Speaker B: It is, it is, but. But that's where you gotta do it at. That's where the hard work comes from and all that.
Just staying consistent.
Cause nobody's gonna do it for you right now. Obvious now where we're at, we have an editor now. Okay, so, like, somebody does edit the videos on our channel for us now, but like, for the last, you know, before that, four and a half years, I was editing everything. I was posting everything.
Like album reactions, for example, that take on average at least five to eight hours to edit.
It's a lot. And then you want to be one of the first people to post it. So, yeah, as soon as you did done recording, you're right there, Boom. Right on a laptop, cutting, pasting, doing stuff, adding stuff in. It's a lot. It was such a lot. But it was always worth it at the end of the day.
[00:10:11] Speaker A: Now, don't you wish you had a podcast place to just pull up to so Solomon can do all the things for you in 2.5 seconds?
[00:10:18] Speaker B: Yes, that would Be definitely lovely.
[00:10:22] Speaker A: It's okay. Maybe one day you'll move to LA and this can be your home podcast or your home studio, too.
[00:10:28] Speaker B: Yes. I love it out here.
[00:10:29] Speaker A: Every time I come out here, you see, LA has been getting a lot of positivity lately.
[00:10:34] Speaker B: I love it.
[00:10:35] Speaker A: It's about time. Because everybody just been talking a lot of nonsense for a lot of time.
[00:10:41] Speaker B: Nah, for sure. Like, even, like, when I go back home and I stream and stuff and I tell everybody my experience. Like, and I told my boy Smooth, I'm like, yeah. Like, LA is that. Yeah, the food.
Food is great out here. The energy, everything. I don't know, I just feel so alive as soon as I step off that plane.
[00:11:00] Speaker A: Like, I'm not gonna lie, that's how I felt when I was visiting my sister before I moved here. Like, it just. It just draws you in.
[00:11:06] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:11:07] Speaker A: Like, it feels better.
[00:11:08] Speaker B: Like, I'm not even myself. Like, I don't wear glasses. I just, in la.
[00:11:15] Speaker A: Try to be smooth.
[00:11:17] Speaker B: Like, I'm just like.
[00:11:19] Speaker A: And speaking of smooth, where'd your name come from?
[00:11:23] Speaker B: Movie. Okay, so Smoothie came from. It was me. It was me, my boy Smooth and Z.
And we sat down and there's literally a clip of this. Like, we have. We have it on our phones.
We were thinking for about an hour, what should we name the channel?
And, you know, we're just throwing out ideas. Nah, that's not sticking. That's not sticking. And then I just randomly just popped in my head, I combined all of our names. Z, Smooth, Trey. And so I just typed it out, zmovie. And I was like, what y' all think of this?
We all liked it and we all ran with it, and it's been Smoothie ever since.
[00:12:03] Speaker A: It sounds like a movie to me.
[00:12:04] Speaker B: Yes, that's dope.
[00:12:06] Speaker A: Okay, what has been your favorite reaction video or project that you've done so far?
[00:12:13] Speaker B: That is a great question.
Favorite reaction video that we've done.
That is a great question.
Hmm.
I'm not going to lie.
Like, right now. So right now, were on this big Beyonce journey. They had us. They had us do this big Beyonce journey, okay. We reacted to her Renaissance album. Now, mind you, I've heard Beyonce songs, like, a couple, you know, hits and stuff in passing, but I never listened to an album, right? And so they was like, no, y' all gotta react to her whole cat, her whole catalog.
[00:12:55] Speaker A: That's the big task.
[00:12:57] Speaker B: It is. But we literally just finished. We just finished. And so I want to say, as a whole, that's probably My favorite thing, because it's like we.
We grew to just know her as, like, oh, like, she's Beyonce. To, like, wow, she's Beyonce. Like, and I have a lot of respect.
It's really her work ethic. Like, she's. She's inspirational in a way where, like. Like, we just did her homecoming performance. We reacted to that, and she was off of. Straight off of pregnancy, doing eight months of, like, dancing and production and stuff like that. And it's just like. And I'm looking at it. I'm like, I'm not working hard enough. Like, I'm not doing enough. For real. Because that's dope. It's just. So I would probably say that. I would definitely, probably say all of the catalogs of. To Beyonce because it was just. It did something to me mentally.
[00:13:51] Speaker A: That's good. I feel like that's what the. Everything is about, like, in our industry. Like, everything is about, like, doing something that makes. Either makes someone or something better or. Or feels good for you or makes someone else feel good. Because, I mean, what's the point outside of that? You know what I mean? What's the reason?
[00:14:12] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:14:12] Speaker A: If you could have an artist sit down with you to react to their own drop, who would it be?
[00:14:19] Speaker B: Wow, these are some great questions. Thank you.
Awesome questions. No, for real.
An artist to react to their drop with them, who would it be?
I would have to say J. Cole.
[00:14:35] Speaker A: Okay. Mic drop.
That's the correct answer. I don't know if he knew that there was a correct answer.
[00:14:42] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:14:43] Speaker A: But that was it.
And I'll tell everybody for the hundredth time, it's a cold world right on my shoulder.
[00:14:50] Speaker B: You get it? You.
[00:14:52] Speaker A: And I don't know if I told this story on my show, but I got to show him my tattoo.
[00:14:58] Speaker B: Really?
[00:14:59] Speaker A: That I drew out for myself.
And he, like, he's, like, putting his phone on it. Like, oh, like, that's really nice. Like, thank you. Blah, blah, blah. Like, thank. Thank me. No, thank you.
You changed my life, and then you saved my life.
[00:15:16] Speaker B: Real.
[00:15:17] Speaker A: So thanks.
[00:15:18] Speaker B: For real.
[00:15:19] Speaker A: And. And if. Listen, we're still waiting on the fall off, but if it happens, can you please let me know when we're doing this reaction video? I'll. I'll go back home.
[00:15:29] Speaker B: Hey. Or say less. Say less. Because main Cole, I just seen him last year. Yeah, I went to the concert with him.
[00:15:37] Speaker A: Are you going to Dreamville Fest this year?
[00:15:39] Speaker B: I want to. I want to. I didn't get any tickets yet.
I was talking to my girl about it.
[00:15:43] Speaker A: It's closer for you than it is for me.
[00:15:46] Speaker B: Oh, I gotta go. Cause I think he said this is for.
[00:15:48] Speaker A: It's the last one.
[00:15:49] Speaker B: I gotta go.
[00:15:49] Speaker A: It's the last one.
[00:15:50] Speaker B: Gotta go. Exactly like. But like, Jermaine.
Jermaine Cole. He is Jermaine Lamar.
Come on now. Come on now. He is probably my biggest inspiration in every. Like, I had her play some J. Cole before I came over here. Like, I listened to his music in the gym. I'm pushing. Like, everything that I do, I'm pushing.
[00:16:16] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:16:16] Speaker B: Like, he's just so inspirational and a big reason why I push myself and do the things that I do. Like, his music is just.
He don't get enough credit to me.
[00:16:27] Speaker A: Thank you.
[00:16:28] Speaker B: He's the best rapper in the world.
[00:16:29] Speaker A: I. You know, I thought I liked you kind of, you know, but like, now it's solidified. You're valid.
I haven't heard many people since being in Los Angeles appreciate him the same way.
[00:16:47] Speaker B: Nah.
[00:16:48] Speaker A: You know, so that is very.
I appreciate that.
[00:16:52] Speaker B: Refreshing.
[00:16:53] Speaker A: Yeah, it is refreshing. It's like, huh, finally somebody agrees.
[00:16:56] Speaker B: I love. I love J. Cole, but yes, if I could sit down with somebody and react to a project with them, it's J. Cole, hands down, that man.
[00:17:03] Speaker A: Well, let's just. Let's just say it here. Whenever the fall off comes, we're going to have to, you know, make that happen.
[00:17:09] Speaker B: All right?
[00:17:09] Speaker A: Yeah. Or at least get him to see it.
[00:17:11] Speaker B: Or, you know, actually, so, like, it wasn't. It wasn't his joint. Who was it? Ari? Lennox.
[00:17:19] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:17:19] Speaker B: Which, you know, she's part of Dream.
The Dreamville page posted us before. Really?
Lennox? Yeah. So in my mind, you're on your.
[00:17:29] Speaker A: Way, J. Cole see me and did.
[00:17:31] Speaker B: And knows who I am.
[00:17:32] Speaker A: Exactly.
[00:17:33] Speaker B: So I. I'm cool.
[00:17:35] Speaker A: I love that. I love that my. My artist that I manage, Air the Prophecy. He actually.
Well, I'm not sure when this is going to air, but I'm going to say that Air is dropping has already dropped a record with cause.
Yes.
[00:17:53] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:17:53] Speaker A: Yes.
[00:17:54] Speaker B: That's dope.
[00:17:54] Speaker A: So whoever's listening right now, if y' all go check out Cause's new record.
[00:18:02] Speaker B: Okay. Okay.
[00:18:03] Speaker A: Big dream, though. Anyways, enough about that. We could talk about Dreamville for the rest of the show, but I don't think. Or maybe you will have the same answer. I don't know. If you only could listen to one artist for the rest of forever. And like, the. The reaction videos just didn't. It just had to be that one artist forever. Who to be?
[00:18:24] Speaker B: Do I get controversial on here.
[00:18:26] Speaker A: And it could be dead or alive. You know, we can go back to this.
[00:18:30] Speaker B: Might spark a conversation.
[00:18:31] Speaker A: Please.
I love controversy. It's provocative.
[00:18:37] Speaker B: So J. Cole is my favorite rapper.
[00:18:39] Speaker A: I know where you're going with this.
[00:18:41] Speaker B: My favorite artist is Drake.
[00:18:43] Speaker A: I knew. I knew this is where we were going as soon as it was controversial. Like. Yeah. So I'm going. Just let y' all know he is not currently in LA any longer today. So don't go and try and find him.
[00:18:55] Speaker B: Please. Please.
[00:18:57] Speaker A: But. Okay, I'm. I'm technically not mad at that because of the extent of the catalog.
[00:19:04] Speaker B: Yes. Like, he's. He's versatile.
[00:19:06] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:19:07] Speaker B: Like, he gives you. He can rap, he can sing, he can do little reggae. Like, he can Spanish.
Like, whatever you want. He got it. And he got hits on top of hits. And I. Don't get me started with the whole situation.
Don't get me started with that.
[00:19:23] Speaker A: No, no, I'm not going to. Because people try and cancel me.
[00:19:26] Speaker B: We're. We're one to. I mean, I technically don't care about none of. I keep it. I keep it. I'm on both. I'm not on both sides, but, like, I listened to both Kendrick.
I didn't listen to Drake. I mean, I didn't listen to Kendrick before the rap beef. I'm not going to lie.
[00:19:40] Speaker A: Really?
[00:19:41] Speaker B: I didn't.
[00:19:41] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:19:42] Speaker B: Like, if you. If. If people were to go back and look at our reaction videos when the rap beef started, I'm literally in videos. Like, f. Kendrick. Like, I'm. Yeah, it was bad. Like, I chose a sapphire. Again.
[00:19:53] Speaker A: He's not in LA right now.
[00:19:55] Speaker B: I'm no longer here. Like, all respect to Kendrick now. All respect to Kendrick now. Like, we've reacted to Good Kid Mad City. We reacted to Pimple Butterfly. He is an amazing.
[00:20:04] Speaker A: What about Poetic Justice?
[00:20:06] Speaker B: That's a. That's a great track. That's a great track.
[00:20:08] Speaker A: Why is it a great track?
[00:20:10] Speaker B: Because Drake's on it. But it's also. It's also great because Kendrick's on.
[00:20:13] Speaker A: It's just, you know, people forget that that record or that collaboration ever existed.
[00:20:19] Speaker B: Really?
[00:20:19] Speaker A: Yeah, I've. I've talked to.
I think it's because many people.
[00:20:23] Speaker B: So long.
[00:20:23] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah.
[00:20:25] Speaker B: It's just been. It's been. They've been milking this.
[00:20:27] Speaker A: So Super Bowl Sunday.
[00:20:29] Speaker B: Okay.
[00:20:30] Speaker A: To.
What is it sexy songs for you?
[00:20:36] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:20:36] Speaker A: New album a week apart. How do we feel about this? Have you reacted to that album yet?
[00:20:40] Speaker B: No, because I'm out here.
[00:20:42] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:20:42] Speaker B: So sadly have not re. Everybody's waiting on a reaction because we're one of the few reaction channels that, like, you know, didn't pander to Kendrick.
[00:20:52] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:20:52] Speaker B: It was like, oh, Kendrick, kill theme. Blah, blah, blah. Like, we're still, like, on.
[00:20:56] Speaker A: So this is an anticipated drop.
[00:20:58] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Like, so how do I feel about it?
I'm not going to lie. Like, Kendrick. Kendrick did his thing. Okay? Kendrick did his thing for sure.
[00:21:12] Speaker A: That halftime show was the best music video I've ever seen in my entire life. Ah, Best music video.
[00:21:18] Speaker B: It was dope. Like, the message behind it and everything. It was definitely dope. Like, he's a dope artist for sure. I just feel like right now, everybody's on this hate Drake wave.
I feel like Kendrick pushed it and he did it. If you peep. I feel like he did it by kept saying, we.
We don't like the girls, uf. We don't like us.
And so it mentally made people join in on it. Like, yeah, we don't like that.
You know what? We don't.
[00:21:48] Speaker A: That's a good way to put.
[00:21:51] Speaker B: It's like, how can you say that? But yet, at the end of the day, he's the most streamed artist at the end of every month, so somebody's lying.
Somebody. Y' all like him?
[00:22:03] Speaker A: Yeah. Yeah. I was gonna say, this has been a long time coming.
[00:22:09] Speaker B: Yes.
[00:22:10] Speaker A: Do we think that Drake is just back and we're just gonna move forward, or does he still have to keep it cut?
[00:22:18] Speaker B: Like you to me, you can't knock Drake off, okay? He's. He's been on top of the game for 15. It's going to take a lot more.
[00:22:27] Speaker A: I personally, I'm just. You know, I used to be a fighter, but I'm all about peace and love and blessing. So I'll go back to the big three. If we're being completely honest, I'm the same. Because. Because it is.
[00:22:38] Speaker B: It was fun. It was fun. Like, I wanted. I wanted a clean fight.
[00:22:41] Speaker A: Yeah. Like, it was cute, but now.
[00:22:43] Speaker B: And it got. It got real messy, and I was all right. Like, especially once it got to the PDF stuff and all that. It was like, dang.
[00:22:53] Speaker A: So since we are both Cold World to the death of us, go ahead. I want to ask you how you feel about his bow out.
[00:23:05] Speaker B: Okay. So once again, when the beef started, I was only picking a side because he dissed Kiss J. Cole.
[00:23:15] Speaker A: Okay.
There it is.
[00:23:17] Speaker B: Like, I love Drake. I love Drake, but I'm. I will. I will ride and die about J. Cole. You feel me? Like, so yeah, we're definitely friends.
For sure. When he dissed Cole, that's when I was like, oh, nah. Like, blah, blah, blah. And then, you know, Cole dropped his disc and then he bowed out. Like you said, he apologized. How do I feel about it? I. I'm not mad at it. I'm not mad at it because as a. As a Jermaine fan, that was never him.
[00:23:46] Speaker A: Exactly. As a Jermaine fan, that is exactly what we knew was going to happen.
[00:23:52] Speaker B: Like, that was never him. And especially, like, knowing. Listening to his music, he just. He just wants to prove he's the best rapper. That's why he hops on the songs he hops on.
He does the features he does and so on and so forth. He's not here for the messy stuff. And I think he realized how messy it was about to get. And that's not what he wanted. I feel like he wanted. He was cool.
[00:24:11] Speaker A: It's never been a while.
[00:24:12] Speaker B: He was cool with a little. Exactly. Like, I feel like he was cool with a little back and forth, like, jab, jab. Like, you know, showing who has the better bars and who can get really deep in they bag. But once it got personal, I feel like. I feel like he knew it was gonna be personal. He was like, you know what? Them my boys.
[00:24:29] Speaker A: Yeah. It's not worth it.
[00:24:30] Speaker B: It's not. It's not worth all that. And so I respect it. Cause I'm the same way. Like, I want peace and love. Like, it ain't even gotta be all that. And that's why I love J. Cole and his music. Cause that's the. He's not a hypocrite about it. You feel me? Like, that's the message he spreads. And he continues to spread that by showing like, you know what? I'mma bow out. Hey, Kendrick, I know I dissed you. I'll take it on the chin if you got something else to say. But other than that, I'm done. And I respect it. I feel like it takes a lot to say, hey, I was wrong. I shouldn't have did that.
[00:25:02] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:25:02] Speaker B: And I'm. I'm about now.
[00:25:04] Speaker A: Absolutely. Okay, I agree.
Last call question. Then we'll leave him alone. Top number one song.
Just one.
Just one.
[00:25:16] Speaker B: Just one. Not even giving him a top three.
[00:25:18] Speaker A: Just one.
[00:25:19] Speaker B: Right.
[00:25:19] Speaker A: I got a top one, man.
[00:25:22] Speaker B: Top one.
You know what?
I'm not going to lie.
Dang. I want to say either.
I want to say either apparently, or off his new album. Might delete later.
Pricey.
[00:25:47] Speaker A: Those are very interesting choices.
[00:25:50] Speaker B: It's just his. It's his delivery.
[00:25:52] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:25:52] Speaker B: Bars. And it's his. It's. It's. It's his message. Like, it just. He cuts me with those. Those are the ones he cut me with. So I'll say. I'll say those.
[00:26:00] Speaker A: Okay. Okay.
So I don't even know if you would know this one. Mine is lost ones.
[00:26:05] Speaker B: Lost ones.
[00:26:06] Speaker A: Lost is real old.
[00:26:09] Speaker B: Is that, like, off his mixtape?
[00:26:10] Speaker A: Mixtape call.
[00:26:11] Speaker B: I probably heard.
[00:26:12] Speaker A: It is Mixtape call.
[00:26:13] Speaker B: I probably heard it, but I can't.
[00:26:15] Speaker A: Remember it, and nobody does. But I think it is one of his most powerful records ever. Because when I talk about it, you might know it's about he.
The teenager got the girl pregnant, and now he don't want to keep it and.
[00:26:32] Speaker B: Yeah, I know what you're talking about. Yep. No, that is. That is a very deep track.
[00:26:35] Speaker A: Yup. That is the first song. My dad. My dad used to be such a hater of all new music, but he loves Tupac, so I finally. I didn't get him to get it until I played this record.
This record, and he was just like, you know what?
I will listen to this guy.
[00:26:55] Speaker B: What's funny about you saying that? There was a. There was a question somebody asked me before. It was like, if.
If Tupac came back and you could only give him one rapper to listen to, who would it be? I was like, J. Cole.
[00:27:08] Speaker A: Duh for me. Okay, Tupac, J. Cole, Lil Baby. That's my top three. I don't debate it. I don't get into it.
[00:27:15] Speaker B: That's it. I used to. I used to like Lil Baby a lot.
[00:27:18] Speaker A: He always makes her list.
[00:27:20] Speaker B: Always.
[00:27:22] Speaker A: But it's okay. I told you we broke up.
[00:27:26] Speaker B: It's fine now. We broke up.
[00:27:28] Speaker A: Anyways, enough about all of that.
If you could pick a theme song for your show, what would it be? Or would you make your own theme song?
[00:27:40] Speaker B: I've told you. Shout out, Cuzzo. Shout out. Len Green. I told him he got to make us a theme song.
[00:27:45] Speaker A: Damn it, Green. Why didn't you do it already?
[00:27:48] Speaker B: I told him so If I had. If. If we had to get a theme song. You see, it's original.
[00:27:53] Speaker A: You telling him we need him? I'm telling him we need him.
[00:27:56] Speaker B: The. The.
[00:27:57] Speaker A: The world needs Green.
[00:27:58] Speaker B: Come on, damn it. Come on.
[00:28:01] Speaker A: Hard to love out now.
[00:28:02] Speaker B: Stream. Yes. Yes.
[00:28:04] Speaker A: She's. I'm so glad that that shit is back on. Like, okay. The world is not the same without certain records or albums on streaming. Like. Like. I mean, how long did it take us to get Damn Friday Night lights. Like, whenever I went to type in green and there was nothing. Everything was blurred out or. Or grayed out. I was pissed.
[00:28:30] Speaker B: I told. I text him. I'm like, where the music?
[00:28:33] Speaker A: What are you doing?
But anyways, if y' all want to take your music seriously, okay, do it.
Do it. Don't worry about nothing else. Nobody else. Thoughts, opinions, questions, concerns. Who gives a damn? Okay? As long as you want to listen to it. Okay. And your people support you. What are you waiting for?
[00:28:56] Speaker B: Exactly.
[00:28:57] Speaker A: You know, because even with this. This show, like, I literally just had to just do it, like, same thing with you, you know? And I feel like a lot of people just hold themselves back because they're worried about everything outside of themselves.
[00:29:10] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, that's. That's a big thing for people. Like, just worrying about what other people are going to say or think or it's cringy or whatever the case may be.
And something.
[00:29:24] Speaker A: Never know.
[00:29:25] Speaker B: Something I tell people is the only people that's gonna hate on you are people that's beneath you.
Like, if you're. For example, if you wanna play basketball, LeBron James is never gonna tell you you can't do it.
[00:29:40] Speaker A: Right?
[00:29:41] Speaker B: If you wanna be a content creator, Kasa Knight is never gonna look you in the eyes and tell you you can't do it.
If you wanna play music, if you wanna do music, J. Cole's not gonna look you in your eyes and tell you you can't do it.
[00:29:52] Speaker A: He's gonna say, don't quit.
[00:29:53] Speaker B: The only people who are gonna hate on you and tell you don't do it, or you're not good enough, or it's cringy or whatever the case may be, or people that's not doing nothing with themselves, those are the only people that's going to say something. So by all means, do what you got to do, period.
[00:30:08] Speaker A: I love that.
So being from, I guess, small town, how do you put yourself out there? Like, how do you, like, make new connections? What is your.
What gets you going in, like, in a. Networking.
[00:30:27] Speaker B: So honestly, don't do too much networking.
Really. Just because, like, there's not. In Pittsburgh, there's not a lot of content people.
And to the ones that there are, it's like, it's not as. No offense to nobody. It's not as like.
Like as much as I am.
[00:30:53] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:30:53] Speaker B: You know, like, I've. I've tried. I've tried to connect with people. I've tried to put people on and, you know, like, help them make their own lane. And, like, you Know, oh, come on stream with me. You know, I got an audience. They'll follow you, we can network, blah, blah, blah. And, you know, people cancel or people.
[00:31:09] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:31:10] Speaker B: Can't do it last minute or they don't want to, or they don't get back to you. And. And so, like, really, it's just been, you know, just me and Smooth for the most part, like, it's just been us, too. And, you know, I got my own thing with Twitch and TikTok a little bit, but Pittsburgh is just real, like, hard to network.
[00:31:34] Speaker A: Yeah. And honestly, like, I'm. I'm really proud of you. I. I didn't. For some reason, I didn't think you lived there anymore. I thought you lived in, like, for some reason, Maryland sounded familiar or. So I didn't know that you still lived in Pittsburgh. So I'm. I'm really proud of you for taking it global.
[00:31:52] Speaker B: Thank you.
[00:31:53] Speaker A: That's the. Because people don't.
[00:31:55] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:31:56] Speaker A: Where. Where we're from, like, it's just. Everything just seems so out of reach and impossible. So, like, that's. That's a huge thing, and you've done really well, so congratulations.
[00:32:07] Speaker B: I've tried. I've tried.
[00:32:10] Speaker A: So what's next? Like, where are we going from here? What's your next big goal for. For the channel or for yourself?
[00:32:20] Speaker B: For.
Okay, next big goal, I would say, is creating my own brand.
[00:32:27] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:32:27] Speaker B: And doing my own thing. Like, we've done movie for years now, and that's. I, you know, God willing, that's always there, and we'll always do that.
But I don't want to just be known as a guy that reacts to music.
[00:32:43] Speaker A: Okay.
[00:32:44] Speaker B: You know, that's what. That's what our channel is based on.
I feel like I have a lot more to offer to the world and, you know, to just spread a message and be inspirational and, you know, remind people you can, you know, you can do it. You just got to put the work in.
But, yeah, just building my own brand and doing my own thing, whether, you know, YouTube, Twitch, still, and just being a content creator in general.
[00:33:13] Speaker A: What do you think that people don't understand or. Or don't realize about the job that you're.
[00:33:25] Speaker B: You got to have faith. You got to have, like, God first, God first, God bless.
You got to have faith in the man above, like, real quick, little testimony.
So before last year, I was working.
I was working, you know, two jobs, and I was taking care of people with intellectual disabilities, and I was doing that for, like, three, four years, and some stuff happened. At one of the jobs, and I got put under investigation.
And mind you, this is like, I've never, you know, had no issue like that or nothing like that, but I got put under investigation with it, and, you know, so I couldn't work that weekend, and I worked weekends.
[00:34:18] Speaker A: My best friend does the same exact thing in Pittsburgh, like this. This same exact story. Like, I've heard from my best friend.
[00:34:25] Speaker B: Yeah, crazy.
So they put. They put me under investigation. They had called me a couple days later. It's like, hey, like, you're all good to work this weekend.
However, we can't let you work at the house you've been working at.
Mind you, I've been working at the same house for three, four years. Same client, three, three, four years.
And so it was like, why? Like, there's like. Like, I work with other people at that same place. Other people have been under investigation. Nobody's ever had to move out of the house or nothing like that. And around that time, like, they were doing, like, they were low on people, so, like, they were calling on the weekends, like, hey, can you go here and watch this person? And stuff like that. So it really just felt like, you know, they used that opportunity to try to move me somewhere else, but I was uncomfortable with it. And so I was like, okay, can I take. Can I take a day to think about it? You know, they gave me my choices of houses I could work. I'm like, can I take a day to think about it?
Got on my knees, I prayed to God, and I'm like, like, what do you want me to do? Like, what am I supposed to. Is this. Is this your way of moving me out of here and, you know, doing content, like, doing what I need to do, blah, blah, blah. And went to sleep that night.
Woke up the next morning, and first thing on my Instagram feed was CJ Strout.
And he was talking about his favorite verse in the Bible, Proverbs 3, verse 5 and 6. Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
Lean, lean not on. Lean not on your own understanding.
And he will make your past straight.
And caught my job and quit.
[00:36:09] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:36:09] Speaker B: Got my job, quit and set up. We set up our Patreon, you know, so people can subscribe, and they pay a certain amount to subscribe. And, you know, that first month, God willing, bills was paid.
[00:36:27] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:36:28] Speaker B: Yeah.
[00:36:28] Speaker A: That is beautiful.
That. Listen, he'll always. He'll always respond, yes, when you're looking, man.
[00:36:35] Speaker B: Yeah. Is it. Isn't CJ Stroud from the Texans quarterback?
[00:36:39] Speaker A: Isn't he from out here.
I think he's from the ie, or maybe. I'm sure that would be funny.
What is something aside from prayer that you do to take care of your mental health?
[00:36:54] Speaker B: Something besides prayer?
[00:36:57] Speaker A: Because that's always a given.
[00:36:58] Speaker B: Yes, I would say working out.
I recently, I haven't been a gym head, but, like, I was a bit.
[00:37:06] Speaker A: I knew he was from the ie. I'm really from la.
[00:37:09] Speaker B: Okay, you're good at your job.
[00:37:11] Speaker A: Okay, thank you. Thank you. I don't care about sports, but I' ma know the people.
[00:37:17] Speaker B: But yeah, definitely working out, which I feel like that is a big help towards discipline. Like, I feel like that's the easiest form of discipline you can gain because it's not fast results, but it's kind of the fastest results you can get when it comes to consistency and discipline. Like, within, like three, four weeks, you can start to see results.
And so, like, that helps because once you gain discipline in one area, you can translate it to other areas.
So it definitely. For me, working out, going to the gym, you know, five, six times a week helps me in other areas. Like, you know, if I can go to. If I can get up at 6am, go to the gym for an hour, I can do what I need to do for the day.
[00:38:00] Speaker A: Wow.
[00:38:00] Speaker B: Like, other people are just waking up and I'm already. I'm already up at it, did what I did what I needed to do, and it just makes you feel like you're ahead of everybody and, you know, you want to stay ahead of everybody.
[00:38:12] Speaker A: Yeah. You've just given me a slight tad bit of inspiration to stop fighting the gym.
[00:38:22] Speaker B: I'm telling you. I'm telling you. Like, because once you, Once you see the results, it becomes addicting. Yeah, it becomes very addicting because maybe.
[00:38:30] Speaker A: I just gotta get to that point.
[00:38:31] Speaker B: You gotta get to. Once you get there. Once you get there, that's where you know, everything will start just being a habit. And like, I think they say it takes like 21 days to build a habit.
[00:38:42] Speaker A: Yep.
[00:38:43] Speaker B: Once you. You just gotta push through there, but it's so worth it because it's like the days you don't wanna go and you get up and go feels a lot more accomplished.
[00:38:53] Speaker A: Yeah.
[00:38:55] Speaker B: It'S easy to do something when you wanna do it, of course, but when you don't wanna do it, that's when it matters the most because you can get a step ahead.
[00:39:05] Speaker A: I really, like, I feel like I've taken a lot of. Of really good life advice from you in this episode. Like, I've never Heard someone say a couple like what you just said, the days you don't want to do it is when it matters the most. Like, I'm going to take that and run with it because that's real.
[00:39:25] Speaker B: It is.
[00:39:26] Speaker A: And that's so true. Because, I don't know, I. I obviously I became an attorney, you know, I. I moved across country, did all these things, but it's just something about everything. Exercise is the only area of my life that I do not care nor have any type of discipline in. And I just don't understand.
But I'mma take that. Next week I'm going to go to the gym three times instead of two.
[00:39:53] Speaker B: All right. Look at you. That's one progress. One percent. One percent. That's all you need. At least one percent better every day. That's all you need.
[00:40:02] Speaker A: I like that. I like that. Well, I want to truly thank you for coming and sitting down on the royalty room.
[00:40:09] Speaker B: Thank you for having me.
[00:40:11] Speaker A: You made time while you were in L. A and I know there's a lot to do here, so it means a lot and good luck and congratulations on everything that you've done so far. And I'm going to be waiting on the moment that cold world either posts, sees, reacts, or sits down about this next album, because I'm damn sure waiting on the album along with the rest of the world, you know, but it's okay. He's giving us. He's giving us, you know, the anticipation is building. It's coming.
But y' all already know what the deal is. It's legal. Queen la on all platforms.
Shout out your platforms again, whether it's.

Thank you again for having me.
[00:41:10] Speaker A: Of course.
[00:41:11] Speaker B: Appreciate it. This was my first time doing something like this.
[00:41:14] Speaker A: Okay. And it's not going to be the last.
[00:41:16] Speaker B: No, no. I like this. I like this a lot. You know, maybe we have a future episode a year from now.
[00:41:21] Speaker A: We will. We will. Maybe you and green can come on together.
[00:41:24] Speaker B: Oh, I would love that.
[00:41:24] Speaker A: And. And we'll will have a theme song by then.
All right, well, like, comment, subscribe, all the things follow, tap in and we'll see you all next time.
[00:41:36] Speaker B: Peace.
