Hey, everybody. Welcome back to the royalty room. Legal queen la, aka Ashly Valenzuela. Today we have a very special guest right here from LA. We got Leeky 2x in the building. Yes, yes, yes. What's the deal? What's the deal? How y'all doing? How you doing? How you doing? How you feeling? I'm good. I'm great. You have a lot going on this summer. Yeah, a lot of shit. Been going crazy. Crazy, like, quick, too. Yeah, exactly. I was gonna say, I feel like I saw you one day on the Internet, and you've, like, been in my face online everywhere ever since. You know, that's the purpose. You know, that's the goal. So I like when people tell me that. Also, you just recently signed a deal with Empire. Yeah, yeah. Definitely signed a deal with Empire. I'm fucking with them. Congratulations. Thank you. I appreciate that. Carry that out. The fuss. Yeah. How does it feel to be growing up in your city and you're doing everything that you wanted to do in your own city? That shit feels great. Honestly. It feels amazing, you know, like. But, like, you know, it's like I can't get. I can't be settled. I'm not settled. You know? Like, I'm not just. I'm happy, but I'm not happy. You know what I'm saying? Like, it's still more to come, but, like, I know I made it past, like, a certain limit. Cause, you know, some people who don't even make it to where I'm at, so I made it here, you know, like, I get paid for making music, so, like, you know, that's what I. That's, like, the goal, you gonna say. But now it's a bigger goal now to stay paid and, you know, all that. I feel like, so I'm from the east Coast, Avi. I feel like LA is one of, like, the only places you can be from and stay in and make it. You know what I mean? Like, I feel like back home, if you make it, or if you do something big, you can't go back home, because it's just haters, you know? You gonna get. You gonna get got. Yeah, it's a bunch of bullshit. Like, how is that, like, what's it like growing up here and doing this? Well, I feel like it's like the same in LA. Like, a lot of people you got, you know, for sure in LA, like, who grew up and were born here, like, you know, saying, like. Like, literally one of the recipes, one of the most famous apples. Nipsey, he just recently died. You know, I can't even name, like, Draco. Rip to Draco. He died out here, too. It's like, you know, so a lot of rappers do die out here, but I feel like. Yeah, to a certain extent, I feel like LA loves our artists more, though, as well. Like, we love our artists, like, especially the ones that make it. Cause we probably knew them from ground up. We went to school with them, they went to the park with them or something like that. So it's before a rap, it was just real love. So I don't know, but I feel like that's everywhere, though, honestly. Yeah, there's a lot going on, like, obviously this summer with the whole kendrick bringing everybody together. What? Cause again, I'm from the east. A lot of my viewers are from the east. What is it? What is happening out here? I feel like there's a lot of, like, unification. Yeah, that's, like, the best way to describe it. A lot of. A lot of unity taking place right now. Everybody just coming together and bringing good spirits and good energies together and doing great collaborations, shows, features, you know, whatever it is people are linking up with vendors and stuff, like clothing, people, all that. LA is just like the west coast, really. Just la, though. But, like, we up right now. Like, especially, like, you know, big shout out, you know, to my hat, to Kendrick. Cause, you know, he opened the door for a lot of artists, you know, like, people like me. I'm grateful, you know what I'm saying? Like, I've been making LA music, but now, like, I'm even more confident to make it. Like, it was, like, a little bit of motivation. Yeah, yeah. What LA artist or what, I guess, La person would you want to work with in the future that you haven't already? Yeah. Caitlin and the clan. Okay. And Stephen G. Okay, so I know the first two. I don't know, the last. The last. And blast. Blast that. Okay, I could see that. Cuz I don't know. I don't know if everybody knows this about Leeky 2x. It's not all model scam rap trap. There's a little r and b sprinkle in there. Yeah, yeah. I gotta show them. Coming soon. You know, this tape I'm gonna drop after, I'm gonna drop a new song called Drop Top. Really soon after that, I'm gonna drop a tape. So, you know, it's gonna be different sides, too. It's gonna be rapping, and it's gonna be some r and b, like, singing this movement shit. I mean, that's perfect, because in the music industry, like summer, obviously, you're doing exactly what you're supposed to do. Everybody wanna turn up. Everyone would get lit. And then once the fall comes, everybody wanna cuddle up and listen to some slow jams. Yeah. What's - Tell us about MSRT? This new video, this new wave, it's been stuck in my head since I met you. Like, it won't go away. That's hard. I like that. I don't. I don't. It won't go away. It won't stop. I made that. I don't remember when I made that. I made that, like, a couple months ago. Um, I made it at the homie studio. His name? D. Jones. He, um. He. Matter of fact, I have a shirt for you, matter of fact, real quick. Um, my model skin rap trap shirt. Oh, okay. Got the stop light in the back. And this is. This is, um. My boy, D. Jones, tattooed on your face. Yeah, it's tattooed on the side. Yeah, that's really me. You know, I had to bring it up. That's dope. I should put it on. Yeah. My boy, though, he helped me make that. He made it for me. His name, D. Jones, his brand is the heart of LA. It's on the side of it. Okay. You know, I've been seeing this online, all over Instagram, and I really like this, you know. You know, I'm a lawyer. We got the Go Leeky on the tag. So I'm gonna give everybody some little trademark advice. If you want to make your own brand, and I will put this on in a second. If you want to make your own brand and you want to trade market, your name or your brand has to be identified on the tag. Like, if you. If you made this shirt is cute, whatever, but it didn't have this tag, you gonna have problems getting it trademarked because they need to know that it came from you and it has to do with you, and you're selling it in commerce. So just a little trademark, one on one. I even know that my boy, when he did it, he put the tag. I didn't tell him to do that at all. He must have known that. I'm gonna need that or something brilliant. Or maybe he has a lawyer. In fact, I don't know. But I recorded the MSRT. I recorded at his studio. He also has a whole recording studio. And in the back, that's where he does the. That's where he does the. His printing for clothes and shit like that. He made all my shit. So he has a music studio and a print shop? Yep. M one. M one. That's kind of hard. That should look hard on you. Okay. Period. I can model. Scam, rap, trap. But I'm a lawyer, though, so. You a lawyer? I coulda. These are the things that I could. If you wasn't a lawyer. Yeah, my daddy made me go to law school, so, you know. But I could still model, though. I might still rap. That's why I made it, you know? Cause somebody anywhere, somewhere can do one of them. Yeah, it's like a. It's gonna reach a lot of people. What's your favorite job out of them rapping? And that's Kevin, the model. Entrapment. Okay. As you're not official lawyer, we're gonna gloss right over that model. So you do model? Yeah. Not, like, too often, but I model for, like, brands, you know, shit like that, skits and shit. So do you like, you like being in front of the camera? Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's fun. Okay. I like getting my face out there. Any chance I can. Speaking of, you just sold out a show at the Novo recently. Yeah. I ain't gonna lie. It wasn't even, like, just me, but it was. It was 310 Babii show, but, yeah, we sold it out. Me, 310 Babii, The Cuzzos. That shit was lit. Okay, I'm not gonna lie. I did not know about Cuzzos until that day. They went, oh, no. Yeah. Crazy. For sure. Yeah. And I also. I'm getting a little bit old. I don't know if anybody could tell I'm getting a little bit old. That crowd made me feel probably, like, sixty-five, a young crowd. But that's good, though. Cause that's the audience that you need to tap. You know? They're the ones that are fueling the music industry at this point. I saw that you also did, like, some type of high school tours or something. Yeah, I was doing high school tours a while ago with classified. That shit was. It was lit. It was fun. I remember, like, every other day, it's going to a school. Um, just, you know, making that new connection with these high schoolers and crowds and shit like that. Like, it was dope. Like, you know, I got, like. It's like, some high schoolers who still hit me up. I ain't go. I got, like, a connection with, like, three girls who do, like, a routine to my dance. Anytime, like, I make a new song, they follow me on TikTok. They always hit me up, you know. Like, just doing, like, a new challenge. Yeah. Like, anytime I drop a song on TikTok or whatever. They're, like, the first ones to go do a challenge to it. So, you know, like, I. And that's just from that school tour, you know, like, I feel like, you know, like, I don't even. I don't even consider them fans, just, like, supporters, you know? Yeah, yeah. But I would never met them if I wasn't doing school tour. That's dope. That's dope. I seen recently, I want to say, like, it was ty Hollywood who's doing, like, a lot of school tours and stuff. It's important. It's important. I did recently, I want to say it was in the spring. I went with a what's your cause? Tour, and we did, like, a panel, and at the end, two of the artists performed. And, like, it was really. It was nice to me because I don't know if, you know, like, I. I do a lot of, like, child advocacy, and, like, I've worked with, like, children, foster care, and I always wanted to be a teacher. So, like, whenever people can connect with the youth in, like, a positive way, especially doing unconventional jobs, I think that's really important, because when I was growing up, my dad is. I'm the first generation on my dad's side, so the only thing that America means to him is you work hours a week, climb the corporate ladder, you go to ten different colleges and get all these degrees, and that's the american thing. But it would have been nice for me to know at some point growing up that you don't necessarily have to go to college to do what you want to do in life. Yeah, you definitely don't. That. Is that something that you agree with? Yeah, definitely. I definitely agree with that, you know, because I'm. I'm living. I'm living my life. I love my life. I'm happy, you know, like, I ain't go to college. I don't even think about going to college. Yeah, I went to. Well, I wanted to when I was younger. Cause I played basketball. I wanted to go for basketball. But once I got out of that, I stopped caring about college. Like, I'm making music, I'm making money. Right. You know, like, we ain't really worried about that. It is kind of nice to know, like, there are other opportunities and other options, like, the creative stuff, like, even management. Like, I didn't. I didn't have to go to law school to be a artist manager, you know what I mean? So it's nice to kind of connect with the kids and let them know that there are these different avenues, because school, obviously, is going to funnel all of that, like, college readiness down their throat. So you can do whatever you want to do. You don't have to go to law school. You don't have to go to college. You don't have to go to business school. You can do whatever you want in this life, and, you know, just wake up one day with a record deal, like Leeky . I don't think it's, like, that easy. You know? Like, you know, you got to put a lot of work. Yeah, that's something that I noticed about you. Like, I feel like every time we've ever spoken, you're working. You're in the studio. Yeah, I live in the studio. You know, I'm trying to arrange it to get in later after this, like, tonight. I'm trying to arrange it, like, you know what I'm saying? So I'm always. I love the studio. I love to hear my voice. I love to make new songs. I love to think about new songs I'm about to make. I love to text my producers beats that they need to sample or ideas and shit. Like, just everything. I'm in love with music, so I love to be in the studio. Where did that come from or where did it start? I don't know, honestly. But, like, is it something that's always been in me? I never, like. I can't track it down, but it's just always been like that. I've always loved music. Did you always know that you wanted to do music yourself? No, I didn't always know that. So it was basketball first? Yeah, it was basketball first. Okay. Yeah. Okay, I see it. I see it. And I always love some music, though. What's something, like, musically, that you listen to or you like that people wouldn't expect? I like. I like the old school songs. Like, I love r and b. I even like rock songs. It's this one song by. I don't know the dude's name, but it's like he sampled the everybody getting tipsy song. Oh, Shaboozey. I like that song that he did. It's like a country like song. It's hard. He's like, everybody in the club getting tissue. Yeah, I'm not gonna hold you. At the BET awards, he performed. I never heard that song until I saw him perform. I'm late on some things. I really try to keep up, but I was late on that song, and I saw him perform it, and I was, like, really getting into it, and all of a sudden, j kwon come out from the background talking about everybody in the club, getting tipsy, and he did his whole verse, and I was just like, yo, this is crazy. So could you see yourself doing, like, a country. A country thing? Yeah, I can. I can see myself doing, like, some country music. I could see myself doing gospel music, like, not like a lot, but, like, just, like, maybe like a track, like, you know what I'm saying? Or two. Kind of, like, you know how, like, roddy ricch kind of does, like, a little gospel music sometimes? Like that new mustard song. I don't know if you heard it. Pray for me. Like something like that. Like, lil baby got a gospel song with Kirk Franklin, too. I think I heard it, like, some shit like that, you know, sound like some choir or, like a soulful voice singing behind me or something like that. That's exciting. I'm excited to hear what you come up with as far as, like, let me ask you some. Some crazy questions. What is something or a song or a lyric that you've written that you went back and you're like, no, I can't release this. We don't release it right now. So a song lyric that I said, I went back, I'm like, I gotta take this hour and drop this. I don't know. I ain't gonna lie. Like, so if you ask me, I, like, if I say it, like, I gotta drop it. Like, if I put it in, like, I don't. If you say it, you meant it. Yeah, I don't really take a lot of shit back, you know what I'm saying? Like, I'm trying to think. I really don't even think I have any good amount. Okay. Yeah. Like, no cap in your rap? No cap on my rap. Like, if anything, the only way I take something out is if I said something wrong or something like that. Like, that's the only way. Like. Or you think of. You could say it better. You are. If I think of a way, I can say something better, that's the only way. But if I get in there, you know, when I'm recording, it's people around me and shit like that. You know, I got my homies in a booth or whatever, and my engineer, my producer, cameraman. So it's people around me. If I'm recording and people hear me, you know what I'm saying? I'm talking in there. I'm gonna make sure I'm not gonna be saying something I don't want to want people to hear. You know, I'm saying I'm gonna say it, so it's gonna probably stick so. Speaking of, I've been listening to your music. You drop a lot of breadcrumbs for the shorties, leaving, like, a blueprint of what you want in a shorty. Yeah. So that's all real rap. Yeah, yeah. Like you gonna say for sure, like, I talk about what I want, like, you know, when it comes to that. Yeah, for sure. Like, and I ain't realize that until right now. No, cap, I probably do. I do my research. I've been listening. I stay what I like. Okay, so for anybody that wants to shoot, they shot at Leeky, just go back, listen to the records. I mean, I don't know. Maybe he's single, maybe he's not. He said something about submissive. He said something about sending attachments. You know, it's a couple of them. Couple of them, you know? Yeah, like attachments sent to my phone and what else? I like submissive women for sure. And why is that? Just cause I like to. You know, I'm a man. Like, I like to be the man. I like to. I don't know. That's just how I am. I can help you. Like, s traditional? No, not even like that. Not even like that, cuz I'm not like about this. You know, I'm not no strict ass nigga. You chill. I'm cool. So I'm really just survived. Like I'm cool. Like, I'm not. Like, I'm not, like, all over. Like, I'm not on that. I'm chill. I'm not trying to be all over your neck, all over you, no shoulder. Like you need to do this or trying to. So not controlling. I'm him. Not even like I'm him. Well, yeah, I'm him. Like. Like a dash of that, but, like, more like, uh. Like, just listen to me. Like when I do this. I mean, when I tell you something, just do it. Just listen. Not even. I'm trying to boss you around. Like, we gonna be happy if you just listen. Okay, so step one, listen to the lyrics. Cause he said what he said. Okay, so what. What is your, like, method of madness when you're making music? Do you have to have a drink? You have to have a blunt. I have all the above. I need a bottle. I need a bottle of some tequila for sure. Tequila. What kind? I'm not even positive, like, what kind? Like, it could be like, some reposado or some tarramata or like, casamigos, whatever. Like, it's like, around that. You gonna say something around that? I like tarramona and, like, I like deer juice too? Something like that. I don't know. I just learned that deer juice, what deer juice was, it's causadores for anybody who, who didn't know. I don't even call it that no more. I just call it deer juice. Yeah. Because I was lucky waiting for you to say what it was. I lucky forgot just now. I'm like, what is it? My friend said, I thought she made it up the other day. Cuz I don't drink. I'm not a tequila drinker. Um, it's not, it's. It's a west coast thing. I feel like I showed up to LA and the only thing people drink is tequila. And it wasn't ever like that where I'm from. That, like that recently, like, took over the real house. I remember when I was a henny type of nigga. And now, like, I just angle. I was keep going with the in crowd on that one. Like everybody just like I wouldn't. I started going outside and shit. Everybody drinks tequila. Like nobody. You got a henny, they looking at you like. So, yeah, I just like, you know, I start fucking. Cause I drink anything. I really don't care. End of the day. So we're drinking, we're smoking. Do you need, like, you need, like everybody out the room, you need your people with you. You just be. If it's, um, if it's some. So if I got the booth, if there's a studio with a booth, I don't care who's out there, you know what I'm saying? Like, but if it's like an open, you know, no booth. I probably don't want too many people around me. He was saying, I don't know, I just need to focus more and shit like that. But, yeah, if it's boof, then I could have people in there. I'm not tripping. I just. For me, I'm rapping. So all I need is blunt. Some liquor and like a Red Bull. Cause I'm gonna be drinking a lot. I'm a Red Bull girl too. I wanna crash out, so I gotta stay up. So I'm gonna need some Red Bull. Okay. As far as your music, what movie would you put, like, as your soundtrack on? What movie would I put my soundtrack on? Hmm, that's lucky dope. Probably like, maybe like bad boys. Okay. Or like, I don't know, like, I say, yeah, like, that's like the most recent one I could think of that I think that'd be hard. You seen the new one? Yeah. Okay. I haven't seen it yet, but, I mean, we could be modeling, scamming, rapping, and trapping on bad boys. I could see it. You know what I'm saying? Like, some shit like that. And my other song go Leeky . I feel like that's, like a song that should be in the back of a movie anyways, too. Like, people told me that, like, I don't know, maybe, like a. It made me wanna dance. So that's what it was. I made. I made, like, a meme one day. Just. Cause I do it a lot often with my songs. I put my songs behind memes, you know, just to get viral, you know, get my song more attraction, Instagram and shit like that. I made one with cars. It was a car scene. I don't know if you ever watched movie cars. I don't know if you remember. I ain't got. It's funny to me. I still laugh. I'm not one of the people who just laughs at their jokes and shit like that, but this one was actually funny, so I still laugh when I think about it. I low key. Want to bring it up, but we will have to search for it. Yeah, if y'all can. Like, it's on my. It's on your page. It's on my reels. All right, so let's see if we can find it in the reels. But it's not funny as video. So what's your. What's your instagram for everybody to follow you? Go Leeky while we talking about it. Go Leeky . G o l e e k y. Perfect. Why are we talking about the song? It's lightning McQueen. They don't like the racetrack. Like one of the racing scenes. It's, like the first cars, too. I think it's the first one here. So lightning McQueen, he on a racetrack, and it's, like, some other cars trying to, like, pass him up and shit like that. And he making, like, a crazy face. Like, he looking back, like, you know, like, trying to skirt over and, like, pass them up and shit like that. And it's funny. Cause I made the caption. It's how la n be in traffic, and I put my song behind it and that shit. It's like, at, like, , likes. Damn. Sixhundred thousand views. I think it's damn near. It's like half a mil on my Instagram. Wow. That's like la traffic getting from La to Long beach. Literally. Literally. Hell, yeah. What? I think this could be the last question to take us out. What is the craziest rumor that you've ever heard about yourself. Craziest rumor I ever heard about myself. Oh, when I was like, when I was like , I was hearing apparently that I was like 27 and had like a kid or two. I guess I always looked old when I was younger, when I was in high school. And I remember one time I was in a group chat with some of my homies and yeah, they told me I was mad too. Like with a kid at 15 or 16. And they were saying that though, like, you know, sound like. I remember it was like a girl who told like one homies or something like that. Matter of fact, no, this is what it was. The homie had posted me on a story on a spam account. This is years ago. And he sent a screenshot to the chat. A girl stood up and said, like, isn't he like with kids or something? I'm like, what? I'll say anything. That's probably the craziest one. That is crazy. Okay, I'm not gonna lie. When I, like, I definitely thought you were like my age. So anyways, for the youth and for the future of LA, what advice would you give them if they want to be where you are? Just, you know, believe in yourself. Don't believe in what you hear or believe in what anybody else wants you to believe in. Believe in yourself. Work hard. Outwork the next person next to you. Outwork the person that you think is, you know, get to a point where you can outwork the person that you think is working harder than you and you gotta take every chance. Don't be too big headed to take opportunities, you know, when you're starting off, you gotta earn. Not like that realistically, but you have to earn being big headed, you know, like, I know that might probably sound arrogant or somebody, but it's realistic, you know, like, especially in this entertainment world. Like, everybody's big headed to a certain extent, but you have you earned that, you know what I'm saying? People earn that. Nobody just starts off big headed. People who just start off big headed don't make it anywhere, right? You have to accept being nobody for a little bit, doing shit that you think you shouldn't have to do. Small shows, not getting paid, maybe pay for a feature, shit like that. That's all shit that goes into the process of becoming a great artist. And like a big artist, I'm definitely, I'm not opposed to any of that. I want to first of all, congratulate you on all of your success so far. I don't have flowers here, but I'm gonna give you my flowers verbally. I'm proud of you, and I can't wait to see what happens next with this empire deal and all of these genres that you want to work in. Oh, yeah, I want to tackle everything. I want them to stop spinning my music. I want to be like one of them. Like Drake's Chris Browns, Michael Jackson's I want to be a great. I mean, honestly, if this song has been stuck in my head for the last month or two, then I don't think you have any problem with that. I got a long way to go. I'm harder myself. Yeah. As you should be. As you should be. But yes. @GoLeeky on all platforms, right? Um, Leeky 2x on all the. Streaming up on all streaming services. Leeky 2x.
